Membership Options

District Brigade Member

These are our “firefighters” and are the first line emergency responders that also complete work around the station. They participate in district events, monthly business meetings, weekly drills, trainings, and respond to incidents. The minimum attendance requirements are four business meetings, eight drills, and 2% of calls calculated over one year’s time.

District Company Member

These are our “administrative” members who complete tasks behind the scenes. They participate in district events, monthly business meetings, weekly drills, and perform all tasks not associated to responding to emergencies. Some of these tasks include accounting, administrative assistant tasks, apparatus maintenance, building and grounds maintenance, legal tasks, and website and social media management. The minimum time requirement is an average of four hours per month calculated over one year’s time.

Junior Firefighter

These are our young firefighters who are between the ages of 14 and 17. They can participate in trainings and incidents but with limited capabilities. Their main job is to learn about the fire service and the different roles and responsibilities each position has. Junior members can become exterior firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) (must be 16 y/o), and Vehicle Rescue Technicians (must be 16 y/o). The minimum attendance requirements are four business meetings, eight drills, and 2% of calls calculated over one year’s time. This is a great way to fulfill high school volunteer requirements AND qualify for exclusive college scholarships!

Associate Member

These are active members of another emergency services organization that want to train and respond to incidents with the Harmony Fire District. Associate members must maintain all requirements of their primary emergency services organization and remain in good standing with said organization.

Auxiliary

These are our members who want to help out but do not one to be involved in incident response or company business. They can help with event planning, fundraising, providing food for incidents or events, and other associated tasks.
